Renovating the Marjorie G. Weinberg
Cancer Center that the George Sollitt
Construction built 20 years earlier required
complex coordination and infectious control
requirements due to the diminished immune
systems of the patients receiving infusion
and dialysis treatments. We separated our work from the patient treatment areas with pre-fabricated polymer wall partitions. The renovation of the existing patient exam rooms, administration area, offices and a new patient infusion area. The work included all new flooring, wallcovering, millwork, ceilings and lighting. All of the existing wood doors were refinished to match the new color scheme. The new nurse station and reception desk included beautiful new woodwork and elegant stone countertops. The main focal point of the project is the new infusion area intimately designed for patient privacy and comfort while receiving their treatments. Each bay included unique sliding translucent divider doors, plush upholstery and soothing warm wood finishes. Each bay was equipped with state of the art electronics for patient’s usage.
