Glenwood Village Hall and Police Complex
Glenwood, Illinois
Architect: Harry Weese Associates
This 18,000 sf facility is designed both to harmonize with nearby residential areas and to establish and define the Village Center. The traditional look of load-bearing masonry walls with stone accents and a pitched roof with dormers and a cupola projects a warm, inviting ambience.
The buildings are situated to enclose a landscaped courtyard with amphitheater seating to accommodate outdoor functions. A large hall with exposed Glulam rafters provides an airy, spacious site for town meetings. An upgraded HVAC system allows settings to be independently adjusted in different areas of the facility.
The Village Hall also includes space for administrative functions, records storage, conference rooms, and multi-purpose areas. The 5,000 sf Police Department includes a high-security area with holding cells, telecom facilities with a 911 Call Center, locker rooms, conference rooms, sally port, and a standby Emergency Generator.
