The Marion Street
portion of this project is used carefully chosen high-quality
materials that were incorporated into a streetscape design that is rooted in the
past, but meets modern demands for access, lighting and
maintenance. Brick pavers provide a road surface similar to
the original early 20th century street. Bluestone sidewalks and
granite curbs are in keeping with the historic character of the
downtown area. Along with the high end streetscapes, planters and
a new fountain are featured.
The new Marion & Westgate Street
Improvement project was completed on time and within budget opening to the
public November 2007..
