The Plainfield Lockport Street Streetscape project included the complete replacement of the road and sidewalk on Lockport Street between James Street and 59 Illinois Street in the heart of downtown Plainfield’s business district. Work included the replacement of an aging water main, water and sanitary sewer service laterals, reconfiguring of two-way traffic and the widening of sidewalks.

As Construction Manager and General Contractor our team provided extensive preconstruction services including budgeting, scheduling, pedestrian and construction safety plan and site logistic phasing plan. The design provides an enjoyable, safe and comfortable pedestrian environment for shopping and dining.

The Lockport Street Streetscape project used carefully chosen quality materials that were incorporated into a streetscape, including:

  • Limestone
  • Brick pavers
  • Granite accent banding
  • Colored concrete

Features included:

  • Stone seat walls with fiber optic accent lighting
  • Planter and tree pits
  • Benches
  • New signage
  • Street lighting
