Bridge to Hospital
Description
As Construction Manager, our first challenge occurred during pre-construction when we were tasked with competing an additional $250,000 of work within our original schedule. This problem was further compounded by comments from the Department of Construction and Planning (DCAP) that acquiring a Building Permit would require a second submission. We successfully addressed these challenges and delivered the project on-time. This new three story MOB facility functions as a Family Health Center. The building also includes staff meeting space and large waiting areas. Construction of the bridge became a logistical challenge as it spans the hospital’s very active ambulance drive. Multiple coordination meetings ensured that ambulance traffic was never impeded.
