Use of 3D Modeling
Complete demolition of the 6th floor left nothing but the active mechanical connections between the 5th and 7th floors. After demolition of the existing components, our work included the high definition scanning of the existing space and processed the “point cloud” data into a 3D model. This model of the shell and core of the space was shared with the mechanical and electrical subcontractors in order to promote a coordinated layout for the new duct work, fire protection, radiant heating system and lighting. The reconstructed 6th floor included 21 Patient Rooms, two nurses’ stations and support areas. The project included the installation of medical MEP gas systems, telemetry systems, fire alarm and fire protection, radiant heating and high-end finishes.
