The new 116,500 SF Plainfield 7th middle school is the sixth school Sollitt has
constructed for District 202. The design and layout mirrors 6th middle schools
constructed by Sollitt that opened July 2006. It is constructed of
structural steel framing, and exterior and interior masonry.
This new two story middle school has 22 classrooms,
four science rooms, a learning resource center, choral and band rooms,
technology labs and art rooms. The design includes a 2,652 SF cafeteria,
equipped with kitchen and serving area, and ten offices. The facility has
two gymnasiums, the larger is 2,744 SF, and the smaller is 1,304 SF, with
a central locker room for boys and girls. The site includes parking for
130 vehicles, drop-off and pickup areas, two baseball fields and two
soccer fields. The project is scheduled for completion August 2007.
