The Aux Sable Middle School is located in
Plainfield Illinois. This new 116,500 SF school is
constructed of structural steel framing, and exterior and
interior masonry. The project consisted of the development of
a 24.5 acre site next to an existing school. This new two
story Middle School has 22 classrooms, four science rooms, a
learning resource center, choral and band rooms, technology
labs and art rooms. The design includes a 2,652 SF cafeteria
equipped with kitchen and serving area, and ten offices. The
facility has two gymnasiums, one is 2,744 SF and the smaller
of the two is 1,304 SF, with a central locker room for boys
and girls. The site includes parking for 130 vehicles,
drop-off and pickup areas, two baseball fields and two soccer
fields. The project was completed in July 2006.
