The site includes five detention basins, landscaping, parking for 144 vehicles and drop-off and pickup area. The “T” design of the building helps control grade separation when entering and existing the school.  The school is constructed of structural steel framing with exterior and interior masonry.  The project was completed in less than 12 months.  The school is designed to handle K – 5th grades, with an approximate enrolment of 598 students.  The new Central Elementary School opened August 2006 for the fall school year, and is the fifth school Sollitt has constructed in the Plainfield area.
