St. Isaac Jogues Parish Center
Hinsdale, Illinois
Architect: Harry Weese Associates
A two story 18,000 square foot addition with a 9,000 square foot basement was carefully inserted into the existing campus. The first floor contains a parish center, kitchen, restrooms, small meeting room, coat room, connecting link to the church, elevator lobby, connections to the school and to the old rectory.
The second floor contains seven (7) standard classrooms, restrooms, and connections to the old rectory and the school. The basement has elevator access and contains mechanical equipment and room for storage. Covered walkways provide connecting links to the church, school, and rectory.
The roof of under utilized Henehan Hall was raised and the space adapted for use as a gymnasium/meeting hall. Existing convent was converted to classrooms. Extensive courtyard landscaping and careful selection of materials bring the addition into harmony with adjacent buildings.
Carefully integrated into the existing campus, the new Parish Center provides bright, new gymnasium and classroom space and flexible multi-purpose fellowship areas.
