The Miles Davis Academy is located at 6730 S. Paulina Street,
Chicago, Illinois in the Englewood neighborhood.
The PBC approved The George Sollitt/Oakley Construction Joint Venture as
the general contractor for this new 100,000 square foot three story
elementary school. The school includes large classrooms,
science, art and music rooms along with a library, gymnasium, kitchen and
dining area.
The new school is steel frame construction and exterior brick.
It meets the U.S. Green Building Council’s standards for LEED
(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), and is part of Mayor
Richard M. Daley’s $1 billion “Modern Schools Across Chicago” program.
This project extends our long standing successful relationship with the
PBC and will be the third LEED
school
we will complete for the Chicago Public Schools. The project meets high efficiency and included
a vegetative roof garden. |
